Join us this summer for a hands-on overview of computer science!
Our week-long training is focused on giving teachers the content knowledge they need to introduce computer science to their students! We'll discuss major topics in computer science--including data science, product design, machine learning/AI, cybersecurity, and physical computing--and go over all of the programming concepts covered in the AP CSP exam. Each day, we'll walk through new activities and lesson ideas that you can use with your students next school year!
For those new to coding, we also offer an afternoon programming workshop where you can take time to work on your own programming skills. We'll have plenty of practice problems for you to work through, and there will be experts on hand to help you if you get stuck!
This training is offered entirely online, so you can join us from where ever you happen to be! In the morning session (8am-11am PST), we'll talk through major topics in computer science and work through activities together. In the afternoon session (12pm - 3pm PST), we'll have an open-ended coding workshop for you to practice programming in whatever programming language you'd like to use! We have sessions in June, July, and August, so everyone should be able to find one that works with their schedule.

Program highlights:
You’ll play the student, working through activities and lessons that you can use as-is in your classroom! We’ll also discuss ways activities could be modified to better suit a variety of ages, subjects, and different types of learners.
In the afternoon, we have coding workshops where you can spend time building your own programming skills. We’ll have practice problems and experts on hand to talk through any problems you might run into.
In addition to getting an overview of current topics in computer science--like data science, machine learning, cybersecurity, and product design--,we’ll have guest speakers from the tech industry. You’ll learn more about their first-hand experiences, and they’ll be available to answer any questions you might have about the tech industry!
